What are your hours of operation? |
| We serve you Monday through Friday, 7am until 6pm and on Saturday, 8am until 4pm. |
What kind of things do you clean? |
Anything you care a lot about. We treat every piece that comes in like it's ours. We can clean any dry clean only item, as well as things you'd like to have laundered. Household items, such as pillows, comforters, curtains, or tablecloths come out looking great. Special-occasion gowns benefit from our gentle dry cleaning cycle and hand pressing. We also handle leather goods and oriental rugs.
We have an expert alteration department with over 35 years experience. After they've been cleaned to perfection, come see Laura for any changes you need made to your clothes, whether it be waists in or out, or hems up or down. We
specialize in cleaning and repairing Oriental and area rugs. |
How does your service work? |
Anytime you come to our store with your dry cleaning, laundry, or household items, you can expect smiling faces and courteous service. Part of that service is when you drop-off before 10am Monday through Friday, your items will be ready that afternoon around 4pm. Anytime after 10am, or on Saturday, your items will be ready the next business day around 4pm. In certain circumstances,
we can even rush your order through.
We have drive-thru service, just drive around the building and someone (Amber, Christian, LaWanda, or Tiffany) will come to your vehicle, ask for your name, phone number, and mailing address and take your items in to be cleaned. No payment is required at that time except security deposits on specialty items such as rugs, leather goods, and wedding gowns. Our system needs only your last name and phone number to allow you to pick up.
In a few hours, or 1 day, your order is usually ready to be picked up; cleaned, pressed, ready, and looking great. We can't wait to serve you again, so we appreciate you picking up as soon as you can. We have limited storage space and can only be responsible for your things for a relatively short time. As a courtesy to our customers, we give a call after 2 weeks to remind you of the order, and will possibly send a reminder letter in the mail. |
How does pick-up and delivery work? |
| Our Pu/D service is simple... and convenient. The Pu/D days are Monday/Thursday and a Tuesday/Friday service is in the works. Our friendly driver (Debra, or the owner himself Tom) will come to your home or office and get your express service bag. The next delivery day, they will return with your cleaned items and pick up once again. Our driver can pick up anything you need to have cleaned, from the king sized comforter to the oriental rug to your Sunday suit. Sometimes, you may need to be present to provide special instructions or voice your requests for special items. There are no fees, no hidden service charges. What we require is a one-time visit to the store to get your customer information and set up your billing procedure. We need your name, phone number, billing address and Pu/D address. For billing purposes, we prefer to swipe your credit card into our system; it runs every month on
or close to the 20th. We can also mail a statement to your home, for this method we require payment 14 days after the statement date. There is nothing like the ease and peace of mind that pick-up and delivery provides you with. |
Is dry-cleaning really safe for my clothes, myself, and the environment? |
ABSOLUTELY. Our processes are the industry's leading in safety, not only for your clothes, but for people and the environment as well. We strictly adhere to all laws and regulations concerning our chemicals, and how we dispose of them. Nothing is more important to us than our community, the southside of Virginia; the region that we all live, work, and play in and the people who live here, our neighbors, friends, and customers.
The owner of the business is Tom Crawley III. He is a certified master dry cleaner and a graduate of Wake Forest University with a biology degree. Through these certifications, he is able to make educated decisions concerning cleaning and spotting chemicals. With his biology background, he understands the chemical and physical reactions of cleaning and keeps them working for your clothing. He purchased a state-of-the-art cleaning machine and uses the latest in chemicals to keep all of us, his customers, and their clothes safe.
Dry cleaning is totally safe for your clothes, and enhances their color and makes them longer-lasting. Actually, infrequent cleaning is the real harmful thing to your clothes. Over time, stains and odors degrade your clothing, and even become impossible to remove. Regular dry cleaning removes all the stains and oils that the naked eye can't see, and professional pressing keeps all the creases and fullness that you love. |
